Alberta Government OH&S recognized. Covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, children and infant victims, including Rescue Breathing (artificial respiration) and the use of AED’s and BVM’s. This Health Care Provider CPR level course is designed specifically for those who, as part of their job description has a duty to respond to medical emergencies. Certified for 2 Years. Course Length is 6 Hours (Estimated Time includes breaks and a full class of 12).

Lifesaving Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches candidates all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, child and infant victims, including rescue breathing (artificial respiration). Lifesaving CPR-HCP and AED also includes an introduction and walkthrough to the purpose and use of AED’s. Emphasis will be placed on working and being a part of a team environment in these emergencies to reflect Hospital and other Health Care Professional typical situations.

There is no exam with this course. There are no prerequisites for this course.

Candidates will have to perform skills they were taught for the instructor i.e. proper Health Care Provider procedures for CPR and using an AED Trainer in varying “Scenarios” inside a Team setting and outside with less support.
